For those of you who haven’t been keeping up with my novel on Strava (fake fans that deserve cruel and unusual punishments), I have compiled all of the chapters here for you to read. Real fans, please also feel free to reread if you’d like. Please enjoy friends. Also, chapter 4 is indeed the first chapter, there is no chapter 1, 2, or 3.
Chapter 4
Two men approached each other and began talking. It appeared that one had just finished a run.
“Man, it’s such a beautiful day. Whoever said the rain would stop me from going out and having a good run?”
“Seriously bro? The rain has stopped you plenty of times?”
“No it hasn’t, I love going out there rain or shine.”
“I’ve literally seen you skip a run for being ‘gloomy.’ It wasn’t even raining that day.”
“Alright fine, I guess the weather has stopped me before, but it didn’t today.”
The man responded calmly but there was a slight twitch of irritation in his voice. The two men departed and went about their day.
Chapter 5
The day after his rainy run, the man went on another run. This time a short one. He decided to end his run at a nearby park. After a few minutes of relaxing after his run, he was approached by the same man from yesterday.
The man went up to him and asked, “oh so you’re out here running again?” “I am, why do you ask?” “I just think it’s funny that you come out here and run everyday, like what’s the point?” “I mean it’s just something fun to do, surely you have hobbies too right?” “No I don’t waste my time with pointless nonsense like that, I’m working towards something bigger.”
After saying this the second man walked off, seemingly a bit angry. The runner stayed at the park a bit confused, but didn’t let this interaction ruin his relaxation. He stayed at the park for a few more minutes and then went home.
Chapter 6
Still confused from his interactions from two previous days, the runner decided to run at a different time of day, and go on a longer run than usual to clear out his mind. Upon completing his run, the runner went to the usual park where he enjoys his post run relaxation, but this time was met with the man from the two previous days already there. He was there and staring directly at the runner, very menacingly. Immediately upon the runner’s arrival, the man speed walked over to him looking very angry.
“I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO STOP DOING THIS RUNNING SHIT.”
“Bro, chill out man, why you so obsessed with me?”
“I DON’T CARE ABOUT YOU I JUST TOLD YOU TO STOP DOING IT AND YOU DIDN’T.”
The man lowers his voice but keeps a very serious and dim tone. Staring directly at the runner he says, “Alright whatever, but don’t let me see you running again.” As the man says this, he lifts up his sweatshirt and reveals a hidden gun. The man immediately walks away afterward.
The runner both confused and frightened, decides to walk home. Suddenly becoming more confident on his way home, the runner mutters to himself, “just wait till you see me next.” The runner arrives home and begins preparing something.
Chapter 7
The runner returned home after his frightening encounter and began preparing something. He began setting up cameras pointed at his bed and desk in his bedroom, and proceeded to hack into his local news network. It appeared as though he was getting prepared to broadcast something. The runner continued the rest of his day as normal and then went to bed that night, cameras still in his room. He had set an alarm for exactly 7:00am the next morning, the same time that his cameras would turn on and start broadcasting to the local news station.
Chapter 8
The clock struck 7am, on Sunday May 19. The runner’s alarm went off, he woke up, and his cameras immediately turned on and started broadcasting to his local news network. Thousands of news watchers around the runner’s city had their normal news interrupted and began watching the runner lay in his bed.
The runner began laughing to himself maniacally, “Ha ha ha ha ha.” “It’s starting,” he said in a serious and ominous tone.
The runner lay there for an hour and 25 minutes, arms at his side, legs spread out, every muscle in his body flexed. He laid there the entire time without saying a single word, completely silent other than his initial commencement. He had a strained look on his face as if something was happening to him. The whole city watched him in confusion of what was going on.
After the hour and 25 minutes, at 8:25am, the runner stayed laying in his bed, but broke out into a psychotic frenzy. ”Yes yes yes yes YES YES YES. I’m getting closer. HA HA HA HA HA HA.” Every second he laughed he became more and more maniacal. “IM ALMOST AT FULL POWER. JUST A LITTLE WHILE LONGER.” His smile became more and more freakish by the moment. “3 MORE SECONDS. 3, 2, 1! THAT’S IT!”
As soon as the runner said that’s it, lightning struck from out of the sky, through the lights in his room, and hit his body. It was just a couple minutes after the runner went into his psychotic state. The runner lay there passed out from the lightning. 5 minutes go by, 10, 15, and the runner lay there unconscious. Finally at 8:45am the runner gained consciousness, and immediately had a devious grin on his face. “HA HA HA HA, it worked,” the runner said. The runner got out of his bed and went to sit at his desk, ready to send a message to the public.
Chapter 9
The runner was now sitting at his desk, cameras still on him, still broadcasting to the local news network. “Ha ha ha ha, YOU FOOL! DID YOU REALLY THINK YOU COULD FLASH YOUR LITTLE GUN AT ME AND GET AWAY WITH IT? WITH MY NEW FOUND POWER YOU STAND NO CHANCE!”
“Allow me to explain to your incompetent little brain what just happened to me. I began charging up my power at exactly 7:00am this morning, and stopped charging at exactly the 42nd second of 8:27am when I was struck by lightning. This all happened on Sunday May 19th.”
“Oh, you still don’t get it HUH? WELL LET ME SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU THEN. MAY 19TH AT 8:27:42! Since your moronic self still doesn’t understand me, I’ll explain further. Today’s 42nd second of 8:27am is exactly 2 weeks after the same time on Sunday, May 5th. The exact second I finished the Frederick Half Marathon with a time of 1:27:42. Yes, that’s right, I’m Andrew Cullen, the 49th place finisher of the 2024 Frederick Half Marathon, and as of about 20 minutes, I have been given all of the power and fitness gains from this half marathon, reaching a new level of power, never before seen by human kind.”
Andrew once again became more psychotic as he delivered his monologue. “Ha ha ha ha. I can just feel the power coarse through my veins at a speed of 6 minutes and 42 seconds per mile. HOW DARE YOU THINK YOU CAN DISRESPECT SOMEONE AS POWERFUL AS ME?”
Andrew quieted down to a low volume, and calmed his psychotic tone down to a serious and dim one. “To the man who has wronged me, you have three days to apologize before I do the unthinkable with my new found power. You know where I’ll be.”
Andrew shut off his cameras, and thousands of news watchers sat there terrified and in awe as their television returned to their regularly broadcasted news.
Chapter 10
The day after Andrew gave his dramatic ultimatum to the man who wronged him, he goes on his normal run and ends off with some relaxation at the park. He stays there for about 30 minutes, and the man is nowhere to be found. The man has two days left to apologize.
Chapter 11
The next day Andrew once again goes on his normal run. This time it was pretty hot, but he still decided to go for a decently long one. He finished his run at the park for some relaxation, where the man once again nowhere in sight. The man has one day left to apologize.
Chapter 12
For the third day in a row, Andrew went on his normal run throughout the city, and ended off at the park to relax. Today was the last day that the man could apologize to him… and he was nowhere to be found. He had failed the ultimatum. As Andrew began preparing to do the unthinkable with his newfound power, he got a text message from his friend and little brother Caleb.
It read, “yo are you watching what’s happening right now?” Along with the message was a link to a Twitch stream. Andrew clicked on the Twitch stream, and immediately saw that the title of the stream was, “Andrew Cullen is my number one enemy.” Andrew sat there confused, as he watched 3-4 minutes of advertisements waiting for the stream to load.
The stream finally loaded, and what sat there in front of him on his phone screen was the man who wronged him. Streaming from his gaming setup, the man said “Yo thank you AndrewCullenSucks123 for the $20 donation.”
Andrew had no idea what was happening. After a few seconds, he decided to send a message in the chat that read, “What is going on here?” After a few seconds of live stream delay, the man read the message, and replied by saying, “Oh I see you arrived.” The man suddenly had a grin on his face and started chuckling to himself. “Ha ha ha.” The man then turned his camera to the other side of his room, where Andrew saw Caleb, the same friend who had just texted him, tied to a chair, tape over his mouth, seemingly being held hostage. “Let us begin.”
Chapter 13
Andrew sat there stunned as he saw Caleb captured and held hostage. “Caleb has the same amount of power as me, how could he get captured? This foe must be more formidable than I thought!”
Caleb tried screaming through his taped mouth, but couldn’t get out a coherent word. “SHUT UP RAT, I’M TRYING TO START MY MONOLOGUE HERE,” the man said as he pointed a gun at Caleb’s head.
“Ahem,” the man said as he began his speech. “You really thought you were cute with your little news broadcast the other day huh? Your wittle wegs are all strong now from your half marathon buddy? YOU’RE STILL NOTHING COMPARED TO ME!”
“You want me to let you in on a little secret? You know how I kept telling you to stop that running shit? Telling you it was a waste of time, and that I’d never do that shit. Well I lied, bucko, I’m a runner too and I have so much more power than you could ever dream of having.”
“Oh, why’d I tell you to stop running? I’m glad you asked.” Andrew did not ask. “BECAUSE I HATE YOU THAT’S WHY. For years, I’ve seen you going on your runs all happy and shit, having fun with your friends. I work so hard, and all I get is a ‘he sucks,’ ‘he’s so slow, what a loser!’ or a ‘he’s more washed than a bar of soap!’ WELL I’M SICK OF IT! I’LL HAVE NO MORE!”
The man began to smile devilishly as he spoke, “Your little funs up now buddy. I’m back. Your little Frederick half marathon you ran. Guess what loser? I RAN IT TOO.”
The man became so manic it looked like his eyes were bulging out of their sockets. “And I got my powerup 7 minutes before you got your pathetic one. Yeah that’s right, I’m the 17th place finisher of the Frederick half marathon, Sohan Ganatra. Tomorrow we’re going to settle this once and for all. 5pm, you know where to meet. We’ll fight until there’s only one of us remaining. No guns, no weapons, no nonsense. Hand to hand, leg to leg. I’ll see you tomorrow. If I don’t, you can say goodbye to your buddy Caleb here.”
Chapter 14
Andrew closed his phone as the Twitch stream ended, and immediately felt stressed. This Sohan person seemed to be much stronger than he initially thought. He had to prepare himself for tomorrow’s battle.
After a few minutes of calculated stress, Andrew texted a friend that he thought could help him prepare for the next day. No answer. He called. Again no answer. Desperate for some sort of help, Andrew decided he would just show up at his friend’s house hoping they would answer the door.
Andrew drove over to his friend’s house, and before he even got out of his car, his friend was waiting there on their porch. He got out and his friend immediately began talking. “I’ve been expecting you. I saw the stream, and I knew you would come here for advice. Welcome Andrew, come in.” “Thank you EJ.”
Andrew entered his friend EJ’s home, and she began laying out her plan for Andrew to be successful in his upcoming battle. “First off, we’re going to need to get your muscles loose, so we’re going to run some strides, and then do some arm stretches. You’re going to need your whole body feeling good to do well in battle.” The two of them did that, and Andrew felt good, feeling especially loose after his previous easy run that day, ending with the scary Twitch stream at the park.
“Second is the hard part. You need as much energy as physically possible tomorrow. This means tonight you need to fill some stomach to the absolute brim and then some with carbohydrates. I’ll start cooking the pasta.” EJ cooked a gargantuan pot of pasta. Andrew stopped for a quick restroom break before eating, and then the two both had three large plates of pasta. Knowing Andrew would struggle with this, EJ ate the same amount as him out of camaraderie.
“Third, you need to make sure you have a battle strategy for tomorrow. For you, the best plan is going to be to not waste too much energy in the start of the battle being too aggressive. Stay on the defensive and respond to Sohan’s attacks with counterattacks. Let him waste his energy and win the battle of attrition.”
“Fourth and fifth are simple. Get a good night’s sleep tonight and make sure you get some caffeine in tomorrow before your battle. I’ll leave the rest to you. Good luck on the battlefield tomorrow comrade.”
Andrew left EJ’s house and went to sleep. He was nervous about his fight the next day, but confident that he had the ability to win.
Chapter 15
Andrew woke up the day of his fight, and despite all his preparatory efforts, he felt sluggish. Still trusting his friend and mentor EJ’s advice, he decided to get some caffeine in his system with a cup of coffee. He hates coffee, but knew he had to drink some for the sake of his battle.
Time went on throughout the day, and Andrew didn’t know what to do while waiting for his fight. He had a big breakfast and lunch to make sure he had energy for his fight, but he just kept getting more nervous sitting around. He decided to just head over to the park early at around 4:30pm to make sure he was familiar with the area and to make sure Sohan couldn’t get a jump on him.
As he walked over, he still felt sluggish which he knew couldn’t be a good sign. He looked around the park when he got there and no one was there. But sure enough 5:00pm came around, and someone started approaching him. It was Sohan.
However, Sohan wasn’t alone. There was someone with him. Andrew got confused knowing this was supposed to be a private 1v1 matchup. He thought Sohan had deliberately left out the location of the battle from the Twitch stream so that only the two of them would know. And he thought surely Sohan wouldn’t bring Caleb with him as a hostage.
“Who could it be?” Andrew thought to himself. They continued walking closer and Andrew got a vague resemblance of the second person. “Wait no, it couldn’t be. It’s not them, is it?” The two got even closer and Andrew confirmed his suspicion. “EJ? What are you doing here? Sohan captured you too?”
“Captured me?” EJ responded. “You think I would let myself get captured? And even more than that, you really think I would side with you against a hard working running? Sohan and I realized we were both tired of you getting away with your nonchalant running attitude when we both work so hard at it. After I saw his Twitch stream, I reached out and we teamed up. You couldn’t have really thought I’d support you against someone like him?”
“Oh, and I bet you’re feeling sluggish today. Remember that little bathroom break you took before dinner yesterday. While you were in the bathroom, I injected 200 grams of fat into your pasta, the worst thing you could consume the day before a battle.”
“But but but, I thought we were friends, and SOHAN I thought this was going to be an honorable 1v1,” Andrew responded. “You must be a dumb as if you thought I’d honor my word. We’re going to destroy you, and after that Caleb, and after that the whole town,” Sohan responded. “The battle begins now.”
The battle started, and Andrew immediately felt helpless. He tried throwing a punch at Sohan, just for him to grab his arm and for EJ to follow up with a kick to his stomach. He tried to kick EJ just to get his leg grabbed and then receive a punch from Sohan. He tried to play defensive but as soon as he guarded one person’s attack, the other would come and get a hit in. It didn’t help that EJ’s injection was also slowing him down.
After only a few minutes of battle, Andrew had gotten pushed to the ground by Sohan, and he lay there helpless, tired, slow, weak. He hadn’t gotten a single hit in. “So this is how it ends huh? I lay here weak, and betrayed. Just finish me.” Just as Sohan was about to finish Andrew off with a stomp to the chest, a figure emerged out of nowhere. Someone sprinted over to the battleground and before Sohan could land the final blow, the mystery person kicked Sohan out of the way with an intense power. Someone had come to the rescue.
Chapter 16
The time is 12:00pm on the day of the battle. Sohan is still in his room, eating some lunch before his battle 5 hours later. He’s still there with Caleb who he has tied up and is holding hostage. He takes the duct tape off Caleb’s mouth to allow him to eat half a PB&J sandwich for lunch.
“You don’t really think you can beat him right?” Caleb says to Sohan. “It doesn’t matter if I can beat him or not, I’ll be coming with an ally. Together, he’ll have no chance of defeating either of us.” “WHAT, NO! You need to honor your 1v1! You’re really going to do this?” “I don’t need to do shit, and there’s nothing you can do about it. Don’t even think about trying to let him know, you know I still have your phone.”
Caleb immediately becomes stressed about the fate of his friend. He knows Andrew is strong, but anyone would struggle in a 2v1. After they finish lunch, Sohan tapes up Caleb’s mouth again, and begins maniacally laughing until it was time to leave for the battlefield at 4:45pm. The whole time Caleb sat there stressed wondering if there was something he could do to help.
4:45 came and Sohan left for the battlefield, but before doing so grabbed his bodyguard Eamon to watch over Caleb while he was gone so that Caleb wouldn’t try anything. However, in the minute Sohan left to get Eamon when neither of them were in the room, Caleb noticed Sohan left his dishes from lunch in the room, including the knife he used to cut Caleb’s sandwich in half. After a few seconds of anger, noticing the other half of the PB&J was right there and Sohan just didn’t let him eat it, Caleb realized if he could use this knife, he could cut himself free.
Caleb used all his strength to scoot his chair over to Sohan’s desk to grab the knife in what felt like an eternity but was really only about 30 seconds. Knowing Eamon would be entering the room soon, he scooted his chair to face the door entering Sohan’s room, so he could use the knife with his hands that were tied behind his back to cut himself free without Eamon noticing. Seconds later, Eamon entered the room, but Caleb knew he was in a good position to escape.
Eamon didn’t say a word when he entered the room. He just stood there by the door watching over Caleb. Caleb slowly and carefully cut himself free to not be noticed, and after a few minutes his hands were untied. Now that his hands were free, he knew he was golden. Now able to use the full power of his arms, he made a quick slice to free his legs, and just like that he could escape.
Caleb quickly got up, ran over to Eamon, gave him a push towards the wall, and ran out the room. Eamon tried chasing after Caleb, but twisted his ankle after a wrong step trying to leave the room, and had no other choice but to fall to the ground, helpless and defeated.
Caleb pulled the tape off his mouth, burst out of Sohan’s house, and began running towards Andrew’s favorite park, knowing that would have to be the battleground. It was 4:55 when he escaped the house, which meant he couldn’t make it to the park in time for the battle to start at 5:00, but he could hopefully make it before it was too late.
Caleb arrived at the park at 5:04 and the fight had already started. He saw that Sohan wasn’t lying about bringing an ally, and it wasn’t looking too good for Andrew. Caleb knew he had to strike with some sort of advantage to make an impact in the battle, so he hid behind a tree in the park, waiting for his chance to enter the battle.
As the seconds passed, the battle inched closer and closer to his tree, and soon enough he saw Andrew go, and Sohan try to go in for the final strike. This was his chance. As Sohan was about to end the battle, Caleb sprinted in and kicked Sohan to the side, protecting Andrew. He had just made it an even fight. “CALEB?” Sohan and Andrew both screamed, staring directly at him.
Chapter 17
“HOW DID YOU ESCAPE MY LAIR?”
Sohan yelled at Caleb. “You know what, never mind, it doesn’t matter. I’ll just crush you like I’m crushing your friend Andrew here.” “I’d like to see you try,” Caleb responded. “Get up Andrew. No matter how hurt you are, how tired you are, no matter how you’re feeling, it’s time we finish this once and for all. We have no choice but to defeat them.”
“You’re right,” Andrew responded as he got up and into a fighting stance. “I’ll make you both regret messing with us.” “As if!” EJ responded as she went in for a punch on Andrew. Andrew caught her arm, and Caleb responded with a kick to her stomach. “Ha, you guys don’t have the numbers advantage anymore!” Andrew said, making fun of EJ’s attempt to hit him.
Sohan responded with a punch towards Caleb, just to get met with the same response as his comrade. Caleb grabbed his arm, and Andrew took advantage, giving him a kick to the ribs. Andrew and Caleb were suddenly dominating the fight.
They went on the offensive. Caleb rushed towards Sohan for a punch to the face, and just as Sohan tried to grab his arm, Caleb revealed this was a fake, switching his target to EJ, giving a fresh uppercut to the face. As Sohan was distracted by this, Andrew treated him to an uppercut of his own. EJ and Sohan both fell to the ground winded, mesmerized by the teamwork of their opponents.
They tried getting up to get back in the fight, but Caleb and Andrew were right there waiting for them. “Thanks for the PB&J, but I heard you preferred knuckle sandwiches!” Caleb said as he punched Sohan back to the ground. “Here’s 200 grams of pain!” Andrew yelled as he did the same to EJ.
Sohan and EJ could barely breathe as they sat there on the ground, both coughing up bits of blood. Andrew sprinted over to them to lay them out for good, but got a sharp pain in his midsection from his early beating and had to stop. It was up to Caleb to finish them off. His first target was Sohan.
Caleb sprinted over to Sohan and swung his leg at him to give him one final blow, but suddenly right before Sohan was struck by his leg, Sohan grabbed EJ, putting her in front of him to block the hit. EJ screamed as she was knocked across the park field. “EJ!” Andrew screamed as he sprinted over to her, pushing through the pain he was experiencing.
Andrew got to where EJ landed, and she began coughing up intense amounts of blood. EJ had a single tear in her eye, as she likely realized her fate. With barely enough strength to breathe, she began to speak very weakly, “I’m **cough** sorry **cough** I **cough** betrayed **cough cough** you.” After saying this, EJ’s head fell down to the dirt, and the tear in her eye slid down her face. She lay there silent, without a word, without a breath.
“NOOOOOOOOOO!” Andrew screamed pounding his fists on the ground, trying to stop himself from crying. “HEY!” Sohan screamed at Andrew. “YOU SO CONCERNED WITH THAT FRIEND THAT YOU FORGOT ABOUT THIS ONE?” Sohan had grabbed Caleb after his attack and stood there holding him in his hand. “She was an idiot if she thought I’d honor her alliance. But hey we can have our 1v1 now just like you wanted.” Sohan snapped Caleb’s leg as he said this and then threw him to the side. Caleb let out a loud, sharp scream of pain as he did this. “It’s just you and me now. Just how you wanted.”
Chapter 18: The Final Chapter
“I’ll make you regret what you did to my friends,” Andrew said emotionally towards Sohan. “Oh, get over yourself,” Sohan responded. “Sometimes to achieve your goals you need to prioritize yourself over your friends. For me this just meant having EJ take a hit instead of me so I can defeat you. It just so happened that she died in the process. You would’ve done the same exact thing.”
“No, don’t EVER compare me to you. I’M NOTHING LIKE YOU.” Andrew screamed, struggling to control his emotions. Andrew, being controlled by his rage, sprinted at Sohan swinging his arms at him. Andrew being completely out of control, Sohan easily and gracefully dodged his attack and gave him a swift uppercut to the chin, followed by a kick to the chest.
“You’re pathetic. One of your friends dies, the other breaks his leg, and you lose your mind over just that? HAVE SOME CLASS! GIVE ME A GOOD FIGHT!” “FUCK YOU, MY FRIENDS WEREN’T EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE HERE TO BEGIN WITH! YOU BROUGHT THEM HERE.” Andrew, getting even angrier and still not thinking clearly, charged at Sohan again. As he went in for a punch, Sohan grabbed his arm and flipped him over, slamming him on his back.
“Ha, why did I think you’d go out anyway like this. You were always weak. You were never a match for me,” Sohan said, almost annoyed at the lack of competition he was getting from his opponent. “I’M WEAK? AT LEAST I DON’T HAVE TO KILL OFF MY ALLIES TO WIN!”
Andrew got up to rush at Sohan again when he suddenly heard someone talk. “ANDREW STOP!” It was Caleb. “CONTROL YOURSELF. You’re going to act like a lazy fool just to get defeated? Just to have EJ’s death mean nothing? Control yourself and fight for her. Hell, control yourself and fight for me. As soon as he finishes you off he’s going to come finish me too. I can’t fight back like this. GET IT TOGETHER MAN!”
As Andrew realized the weight of the fight in front of him, he composed himself. He was fighting for his friends. He couldn’t do them wrong. Now having full control of his emotions, he approached Sohan. He swung another fist and got his arm grabbed again, but this time shoved his elbow in Sohan’s face, forcing him to let go. He followed this by a left jab to Sohan’s face.
He tried to continue attacking, but was again met with a sudden jolt of pain to his midsection. He let out a cough of blood. His wounds from the beginning of the fight hadn’t healed, and he had exerted quite a lot of energy since then. He needed to finish this fight off fast. He didn’t know how much time he had left.
Clenching his teeth through the pain he went towards Sohan again giving him a kick to the side, and then a push to the ground. This was his chance to finish him off. He went to give him a punch to the neck, but Sohan grabbed his arm and pulled him to the ground, Andrew landing on his back. The pain got worse, and he coughed up another bit of blood. He wasn’t sure he could still win until he saw Sohan breathing heavily, seemingly unable to get up. He had forgotten that Sohan had also taken a beating in this battle too.
Andrew’s arms and legs quaking, he willed himself up onto his feet, using every last ounce of energy still in his body. “I’m going to end this once and for all. You’re never gonna hurt anyone else again.” Sohan didn’t respond, but had a panicked look on his face, knowing he didn’t have the energy left in him to stop his opponent. “Bye, bye.” Andrew said as he gave Sohan a hard stomp to the chest, using the little bit of energy he still had.
Blood started spilling out of Sohan’s mouth, as he lay there surprisingly calm. He lacked the energy to even breathe. “So it was all for nothing,” he said, using up his last breath.
“Finally,” Andrew said quietly as he also fell to the ground, knowing he had nothing left in him, knowing that his time had come. He accepted his fate, almost happy knowing that his last action was to protect his friend, and honor the life of another. “At least none of my friends will get hurt again,” he said to himself as he lay to rest.
Caleb witnessing all of this crawled over to Andrew with tears in his eyes. “Andrew, please get up. This isn’t it. You can still make it,” Caleb said, getting more frantic by the moment. He grabbed Andrew’s phone out of his pocket and called 911. “H-hello, w-we need an ambulance.” He cried as he spoke. “M-my friend got into a fight and I-it got out of hand. Please send help.”
The ambulance came but Andrew couldn’t be saved. Neither could EJ or Sohan. Caleb was also taken to the hospital to get treatment on his leg, but couldn’t care less about himself. His friend had just died, and he had just died protecting him, and there was nothing he could do to save him. Eventually Caleb accepted what happened and continued on with his life, but never forgot about his friend or what he had done.
